First French offshore wind farm opens in St Nazaire

Fig. 1 - S2 (18.09.2022) - The Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm is a complex of 80 offshore wind turbines along the Atlantic coast of France.
Fig. 2 - S1 (24.09.2022) - It is only the first French offshore wind farm to be connected. It has a 78 km² footprint for a 480 MW power.
The project was born during the first years of 2010. Appeals from local residents push back the start of the work to 2019. The French government plans to reduce administrative delays so as to build future projects twice faster.
