Heat and drought cause multiple wildfires in Greece

Fig. 1 - S2 (07.07.2022) - Fire Service reported 378 forest fires throughout Greece in the first week of July due to high temperatures, intense winds & low humidity.
Fig. 2 - S2 (02 & 07.07.2022) - The largest happened on 3 July in Portes, Peloponnese, near Pineios Lake.
162 firefighters with 65 vehicles have been mobilized in the area, assisted by 72 ground force group, 5 helicopters and 2 planes.
Fig. 3 - S2 (02 & 07.07.2022) - On 4 July, another large wildfire happened in Itea, a touristic resort bordering the Gulf of Corinth.
140 firefighters, with 4 groups of pedestrian departments, 43 vehicles, 11 water-bombing aircrafts, 7 helicopters have been involved in the firefighting operations.
