Fig. 1 - S2 (13.09.2016 & 2018) - 12,11,2 colour composite - Beyond the Cordillera, East Peru encompasses mostly rainforest.
Each year 6000km² of the Amazon rainforest is cleared. It adds up to 20% deforested in 50 years, largely to grow soybeans for livestock.
Fig. 2 - Once pristine, the Amazon basin forest is now run through by roads; soon after, roads are bordered by crops.
Fig. 3 - With the land up for grabs, forest is being crumbled to make new farmland.
