Fig. 1 - S2 (17.09.2017) - 4,3,2 natural colour - Astana, capital of Kazahstan, has been renamed for the 6th time since its founding in 1830.
Fig. 2 - 21.11.2017 - 12,11,8 colour composite - It has become the capital in 1997 instead of Almaty, located on the border in a seismic area.
It underwent large planned expansions since 1998 in population & infrastructures, especially the South bank. Its ring road was completed in 2018.
Fig. 3 - 11.03.2016 - 8,4,3 colour composite - Reelected at 98% in 2015, its president resigned after 30 years at the head of Kazakhstan.
