Fig. 1 - S2 (06.09.2021) - The last French coal power plant unit opened in 1981 in Saint-Avold and was closed on 31 March 2022.
This closure happened during a maintenance of many French nuclear plants and the increasingly likely prospect Russian gas will not be delivered to the European Union.
Fig. 2 - S2 (16.06.2022) - Planned to become a 400 MW electrolyser, this coal unit may reopen a few days this winter to deal with possible a dearth of energy.
